New 7 Wonders of the World (2001-2007): Taj Mahal (AgraIndia), Great Wall of China (China), Christ the Redeemer (Rio de JaneiroBrazil), Chichen Itza (YucatánMexico), Petra (Ma'an GovernorateJordan),  Machu Picchu (Cuzco RegionPeru), Colosseum (RomeItaly). 

New 7 Wonders of the World was an initiative started in 2001 to choose Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments. The popularity poll was led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber and organized by the New7Wonders Foundation based in Zurich, Switzerland,with winners announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon. The New 7 Wonders Foundation is regulated by the Swiss Federal Foundation Authority as all nationwide-active foundations in Switzerland are. The New7Wonders Foundation claimed that more than 100 million votes were cast through the Internet or by telephone.
